The Sikh Sangat has been living in Brisbane for well over fifty years. The religious congregation started to be organized since 1981.
Sikh families use to get together at Camp hill School of Arts, After with arrangement of the Monthly Congregation at a rented hall of Blind Welfare Association in Woolloongabba in 1982 onwards.
At the regular Monthly Congregation at the Woolengabba on the second Sunday of every Month families brought the Langar from home and the Karah Parsaad was made at the venue, after the Parkaash of Shri Guru Granth Sahib ji, Japujee Sahib was read then the ardaas was said and the congregation was served the langar.
The process to buy the land for the Gurdwara Sahib was started in 1988. The foundation stone was laid by Panj Piaraas on the Baisakhi day of 1988 and the congregation finally moved the fully constructed site at 2679 Logan Road in December 1988.
